If you are about to be separated from a permanent (non-time-limited) position involuntarily and through no fault of your own, you may be eligible for severance pay. To be eligible, you must not have refused a reasonable offer for another position within the same agency, must have been employed for at least 12 continuous months immediately before the separation, and cannot be eligible for an immediate annuity from a federal civilian retirement system or from the uniformed services. Also, you must not be receiving injury compensation under 5 U.S.C. chapter 81, subchapter l (unless the compensation is received concurrently with pay).
